This event is called the 8th Gadjah Mada International Conference on Islamic (GAMAICI), which consists of 3 scopes: Economics and Development (GAMAICIED), Accounting and Finance (GAMAICIAF) and Business Research (GAMAICIBR). In general, the 8th GAMAICI raised the theme "Sustainable Development through Islamic Finance: Opportunities and Challenges in Accounting, Business and Economics". This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 9: Infrastructure, Industry and Innovation.
The event was attended by 58 research teams who had passed and had the opportunity to present their work. The teams are divided into two categories, namely Main Conference and Student Colloquium. From these two categories, one work will be selected as the Best Paper from three scopes, namely Development Economics, Accounting and Finance, and Business Research. So there will be 6 research teams whose work will be selected as Best Paper.
The MES FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Study Program student team also participated to enliven this competition event, a TEAM consisting of 3 Semester 2 students consisting of Muhammad Akbar Ramadhani, Basri and Dafelia Qodhari succeeded in winning the Best Paper award "As The Most Promising Project on 8th Gadjah Mada International Conference on Islamic Economic Development Sepetembe 29th, 2023" for his work entitled: "Determinants of Economic Growth in OIC Contries: The Moderating Effect of Foreign Direct Investment" in the scope of Development Economics (GAMAICIED).
With this achievement and also several awards that have been achieved previously, it certainly further shows the success of the Sharia Economics Master's Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in forming and honing students' creative and competitive abilities as well as being a forum for continuing to develop in science. Of course, with this success, it is hoped that it can be an encouragement for other MES FEBI students to further hone and develop their potential in work, achieve achievements and contribute to scientific treasures.
