Alhamdulillahirobbil’alamin. All praise and thanks be to Allah SWT, for granting us the opportunity to continually acquire even a fraction of His boundless knowledge. May blessings and peace be forever bestowed upon our beloved master, Prophet Muhammad SAW, as well as his family, companions, and all those who steadfastly uphold faith, knowledge, and righteous deeds.

The Master of Islamic Economics (MES) Program, FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta serves as a platform for the acquisition, enhancement, and advancement of knowledge in the field of Islamic Economics. Since its establishment in 2016, the MES Program has made a significant impact across various domains and levels. Its alumni have dispersed to numerous public and private universities, serving as lecturers in Islamic Economics. Additionally, many alumni have ventured into practical roles within the Islamic economics sector and other general economic domains. Some alumni also play a role as entrepreneurs, contributing to the advancement of the economy. Both MES lecturers and students actively involved in diverse academic activities within the campus and its surroundings, recognizing that the learning process extends beyond the confines of the classroom.

The MES Program’s learning process encompasses 42 credits, typically achievable within 4 semesters (2 years). Upon completion of the coursework, students are required to undertake a final project in the form of a thesis, adhering to high standards and quality. This aligns with the program’s vision, derived from UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s overarching vision of being ‘Superior and Leading in the Development of Islamic Economics for the Progress of Civilization.’

Through the collaboration of all parties, the advancement of the MES Program will yield benefits for the students, alumni, study programs, and the wider community. May Allah SWT facilitate our success in achieving these goals.
