Master of Islamic Economics Program Conducts Field Assessment by LAMEMBA

As part of the endeavor to enhance the quality of education and global competitiveness, the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held an Accreditation Field Assessment on August 21-22, 2023. During this event, Prof. Dr. Nasikh, S.E., M.P., M.Pd. and Dr. Nisful Laila, S.E., M.Com. served as assessors from LAMEMBA. The purpose of this field assessment was to ensure a higher quality of education and to boost competitiveness. This process is a crucial component in realizing the vision of excellence for the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, as well as the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program. It plays a vital role in preparing students to compete at both national and international levels.

The event commenced on Monday, August 21, 2023, with great enthusiasm from Prof. Dr. Phil. Al-Makin, MA, the Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This historic occasion was attended by numerous stakeholders, including the Senate of Vice Rectors, Deans, Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs, and sub-study programs from the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program. Additionally, the Chair of the Institution, Educational Staff, Students, and various stakeholders from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta were also in attendance. All participants shared a common determination to establish the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program as a center of excellent education capable of attaining global recognition and producing high-quality graduates.

In conducting this assessment, both the study program and the faculty have fulfilled the tridharma activities of higher education, encompassing education, research, and community service at both national and international levels. The learning process, which grants students the freedom to explore knowledge from diverse sources, has resulted in outstanding outputs in scientific publications for the Master of Islamic Economics students, supported by collaboration with competent lecturers in their field. Through this field assessment process, it is hoped that the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program will attain excellent accreditation.

During the closing event on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Dr. Nisful Laila, S.E., M.Com, the field assessment assessor, stated that the Self-Evaluation Document (DED) of the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program is very good and well-prepared for accreditation. She highlighted the program’s strengths, including its competent lecturers and highly enthusiastic students engaged in research activities at both national and international levels. Ms. Nisful emphasized that with continued internationalization, the study program can achieve excellence and prominence. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Nasikh, S.E., M.P., M.Pd suggested that the study program should focus on developing innovative information technology learning, improving research management, and fostering an even better academic atmosphere. The event concluded with a closing remark from Prof. Dr. Phil. Al-Makin, MA, the Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, expressing pride in the achievements of the Master of Islamic Economics Study Program and reaffirming the university's commitment to supporting and fostering academic excellence in the program.
