Milad and Halal Bihalal HMPM 2023: Brotherhood as a Form of Excellent and Dignified Synergy

The Islamic Economics Master's Program Students Association (HMPM) FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a birthday celebration (milad) and halal bihalal event. The event was opened by Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.THI, M.A, the Vice Dean III, on Friday, May 26, 2023.
This year's milad corresponded with the halal bihalal event aimed at strengthening the bond between the HMPM management, which had recently held an inauguration event. This aligns with the theme of this year's Milad, “Weaving Brotherhood to Enhance Synergy Among HMPM Members." The 6th Milad event took place solemnly in the theatrical room on the 5th floor of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business. It was attended by the Vice Dean III, the Head of the Islamic Economics Master’s Program, and several other participating lecturers.
The opening ceremony proceeded with the recitation of verses from the holy Qur’an, adding solemnity to the event. The Indonesian national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the UIN Sunan Kalijaga hymn were sung in unison, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere. Mr. Hasbi, S.E, the chairman of HMPM, delivered the first address, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sense of family among management members. Meanwhile, Dr. Ghafur Wibowo, S.E, M.Sc, the Head of the MES Program, highlighted the need for participation and continuous synergy to advance the program, citing his involvement in national and international activities as a testament to the faculty's international accreditation. Following this, by Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.THI, M.A, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the positive impact of milad, highlighting its ability to showcase our accomplishments, enhance them, and rectify our mistakes. He stated that Milad reminds us to handle with care, as it brings new energy, ending with his final message, “We can offer forgiveness to someone, but we cannot erase the pain that has been felt.”
The festive milad event proceeded with a sermon delivered by Dr. Jeihan Ali Azhar, S.SI, M.EI, a lecturer in Islamic Economics. The impactful delivery brought joy to all participants, who thoroughly enjoyed the message. The session focused on the concept of brotherhood, likening believers to siblings who maintain the warmth of family ties. Emphasizing the importance of peace to be considered siblings, it was highlighted that ultimately, Allah, the almighty, will bestow vast mercy and compassion. Therefore, it is hoped that through the holding of this Milad and Halal Bihalal event, we, as a unified organization, will always uphold a sense of brotherhood and foster harmonious peace.
