The Inauguration of the HMPM Sharia Economics FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga for the Year 2023

The Association of Islamic Economics Master’s Program Students (HMPM) FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta was inaugurated by Dr. Afdawaiza, M.Ag., the Dean of FEBI, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, with full solemnity. The inauguration took place offline at the Teatrical building on the 5th floor of FEBI, attended by the deans, the head of the Master of Islamic Economics (MES) program, Dr. Ghafur Wibowo, M.Sc., as well as alumni and outgoing board members. The theme of this period’s inauguration was “The Role of HMPM in Islamic Economics in Strengthening Productive, Progressive, and Innovative Human Resources.” The national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the UIN Sunan Kalijaga hymn, in a stirring rendition, resounded to ignite the spirits of the newly appointed board members, symbolizing our alma mater's pride.

In the report presented by Abdullah, SE, the chairman of the committee, expressed gratitude to the committee members for their contributions to the success of the inauguration event. He also extended appreciation the invited guests for attending. Meanwhile, Dr. Ghafur Wibowo, M.Sc., the head of the MES program, emphasized the importance of participation and continuous synergy to advance the program, as well as expanding networks nationally and internationally. Following this, Dr. Ahmad Salehuddin, M.A., the Vice Dean for Student Affairs And Cooperation, highlighted the significance of academic improvement, networking, and prayers as a platform for collaboration, building networks, and personal growth.

In his address, Dr. Afdawaiza, M.Ag., called for aligning the vision and mission to achieve internationally oriented quality, emphasizing the need to instill productivity, spirit, and a focus on quality issues. This aligns with the tagline of FEBI: excellence and dignity. The inauguration procession was led by Dr. Afdawaiza, M.Ag., followed by the signing of the minutes. The handover of positions from the 2022 HMPM board, represented by Ilham, SE, as the outgoing chairman, to the 2023 HMPM board, represented by Hasbi, SE, as the newly elected chairman. Ilham expressed appreciation to the board members of the 2022 period for their collaboration and enthusiasm throughout their term. He emphasized that lectures are not just a place for learning, but also for networking to deepen skills and knowledge. Hasbi, S.E., as the newly elected chairman, also conveyed a message to the 2023 board members, stressing that the success of an organization cannot be achieved by one person alone, but rather through the contribution of all members. The event concluded with a prayer, expressing hope that the inaugurated board members will always collaborate and succeed in the work programs and aspirations of the MES program and the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business.
