Master’s Program in Islamic Economics, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Receives an Award from IAEI DIY
Yogyakarta—The Master’s Program in Islamic Economics successfully received a prestigious award from the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (Ikatan Ahli Ekonomi Islam/IAEI) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The award was presented during the 2025 Annual Working Meeting of the IAEI DIY Regional Board, held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at SM Tower, Yogyakarta.
The solemn event was attended by the Chair of IAEI DIY, Akhmad Akbar Susamto, S.E., M.Phil., Ph.D., along with Islamic economics experts, academics, and stakeholders from various institutions across the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Among those present were the former Dean of FEBI for the 2020–2024 period, Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag., M.Ag., and the current Dean of FEBI for the 2024–2028 period, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA. The award was granted in recognition of the significant contributions of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics to the development of Islamic economics, through research, curriculum innovation, and community service.
In his remarks, the Chair of the IAEI DIY Regional Board, Akhmad Akbar Susamto, S.E., M.Phil., Ph.D., stated that the award represents acknowledgment of the dedication of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics in advancing Islamic economics. He noted that the program has played an active role not only in academic development, but also in providing tangible contributions to addressing contemporary challenges in Islamic economics.
The Secretary of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics, Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I., who attended the event to receive the award, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to IAEI DIY. She stated that the award serves as strong motivation for the program to continue enhancing the quality of education and research in Islamic economics, while remaining committed to producing graduates capable of contributing at the global level.
During the same event, IAEI DIY also formulated several strategic work programs for 2025, with a focus on strengthening collaboration among academics, practitioners, and government institutions in the development of Islamic economics in the Yogyakarta region. These programs are expected to encourage inclusive and sustainable growth of the sharia-based economy. The award from IAEI DIY stands as concrete evidence that the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics continues to innovate and generate positive impact at both local and national levels. It is hoped that this recognition will serve as an initial step toward even greater achievements in the future.
