Training of Trainers for Learning Socialization of New Master’s and Doctoral Students 2025

Yogyakarta, January 21–22, 2025

Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta organized a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program on January 21–22, 2025. The activity took place at the Rectorate Meeting Room, 1st Floor, KH Saifuddin Zuhri Building. The ToT was attended by all Heads of Master’s Programs, Secretaries of Master’s Programs, and Doctoral Programs within UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The program aimed to provide guidance on learning socialization and to enhance lecturers’ capacity as facilitators in implementing innovative, inclusive, and competency-based learning methods for new master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) students in both the even and odd semesters of the 2025 academic year.

Participants from the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics included the Head of the Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., the Secretary of the Study Program, Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I., as well as MES lecturers Dr. Ibnu Muhdir, M.Ag., Dr. Jeihan Ali Azhar, S.Si., M.E.I., Dr. Joko Setyono, S.E., M.Si., and Dr. Abdul Haris, M.Ag.

During the program, participants received various materials covering academic integrity, active learning strategies, self-regulation, social relations, and the use of digital technology to support the teaching and learning process. In addition, the activity was complemented by hands-on practice sessions, group discussions, and teaching simulations. Through participation in this program, lecturers of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics are expected to contribute more effectively to creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment that aligns with the principles of Islamic education and the demands of the modern professional world. More broadly, the university expects this program to serve as an initial step in improving the quality of postgraduate education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, in line with ongoing efforts to innovate and respond to contemporary educational challenges.

The event was officially closed by the Head of CTSD UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Dr. Muqawim, M.Ag., who delivered a meaningful message emphasizing the university’s continued support for enhancing lecturers’ competencies through participation in strategic training programs such as this, as part of its commitment to producing high-quality graduates, including in the field of Islamic economics.
