Yogyakarta—Over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, December 14–15, 2024, the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, in collaboration with Hutama Hanriz Indonesia, successfully organized the International CAFP (Certified Associate Fintech Professional) Certification at the 1st Floor Meeting Room of Satoria Hotel, Yogyakarta. The event was attended by FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga students, including three Master’s Students in Islamic Economics (MES): Hanifa Salsabila, Malik Abd. Karim Amirullah, and Musyaropah. Meanwhile, another student, Salwa Nabella Aksi Humanita, participated in the International CAFA (Certified Associate Financial Accounting) Certification.

The activity, which took place from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. WIB each day, aimed to provide globally recognized international certifications in the fields of fintech and accounting. The CAFP certification focuses on competencies in sharia-based financial technology innovation, fintech regulation, risk management, and financial digitalization in accordance with Islamic principles. Meanwhile, the CAFA certification serves as a benchmark for professional competence in financial analysis and accounting practices using integrated technology.

The certification program began with an official opening session, including welcoming remarks from two key representatives: the Dean of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr. Ibi Satibi, S.H.I., M.Si., and a representative from Hutama Hanriz Indonesia, Dr. Agus Rahman Alamsyah, who is well known for his distinguished academic background and professional credentials. The opening session was followed by an explanation of the benefits and urgency of these certifications for students’ career development in the digital era.

During the material delivery and discussion sessions, CAFP participants received direct instruction from internationally certified trainers. The topics discussed included real-world cases in sharia-based fintech, encompassing regulatory frameworks and the implementation of financial technology innovations. Meanwhile, CAFA participants focused on practical applications of Accurate software, an ERP system designed to facilitate integrated financial recording and reporting processes.

Simulation activities and certification examinations constituted essential stages of the program. CAFP participants delivered presentations on the application of technology within sharia-based financial platforms, while CAFA participants completed case-based examination questions.

The program concluded with the presentation of participation certificates, symbolizing the successful completion of competency assessments by the participants. These certifications are expected to serve as tangible evidence of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga students’ readiness to respond to the challenges of the digital era, particularly in the development of the Islamic fintech industry in Indonesia. In addition, CAFA-certified participants are expected to be capable of integrating technology into accounting practices, thereby supporting improvements in efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

Through this initiative, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing globally competent graduates while supporting financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.
