Strengthening Academic Quality of Lecturers and Students, IAIN Bone Invites Head of MES Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga
In an effort to enhance the academic quality and competencies of both lecturers and students, IAIN Bone invited Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics (MES), Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as a keynote speaker in an academic capacity-building program.
The activity, entitled “Workshop on Academic Capacity Building for Lecturers and Students,” was held on Monday, February 24, 2025, as a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) and the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics (MES) of the Graduate School at IAIN Bone, South Sulawesi. The workshop was attended by approximately 50 lecturers and students from both academic units.
This workshop constituted part of the implementation of the national collaboration framework under the Asosiasi Program Studi Magister Ekonomi Syariah (APMES). During the session, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo presented strategic approaches to strengthening the competencies of lecturers and students, particularly in the area of globally oriented academic research.
He further emphasized the importance of curriculum review and development that aligns with global standards and responds to contemporary academic and socio-economic issues. According to him, although IAIN Bone is geographically located away from major political and economic centers, strong institutional commitment and strategic vision toward internationalization can enable the institution to achieve global academic engagement.
Through this workshop, it is expected that lecturers and students of IAIN Bone will be better equipped to enhance research productivity, academic competitiveness, and global academic networking in the field of Islamic economics.
