Collaborative National Seminar between the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics of UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Universitas Ma’arif Lampung: “Entrepreneurship as a Pillar of Family Economic Resilience”
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, a National Seminar entitled “Entrepreneurship as a Pillar of Family Economic Resilience” was successfully held at the Theatrical Room, 5th Floor. The seminar was organized as a manifestation of the academic community’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation, particularly university students, in strengthening adaptive, productive, and competitive family economic resilience in the modern era.
The seminar represented a collaborative initiative and was attended by participants from two institutions, namely students of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics (MES) at Universitas Ma’arif Lampung and students of the MES Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm from the beginning of the event, reflecting a collaborative spirit and heightened awareness of strategic issues in economics and entrepreneurship.
The event officially opened with welcoming remarks delivered by Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics. In his address, he expressed appreciation for the active participation of students and emphasized the importance of synergy between education and entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the strategic role of the MES Program in supporting economic growth grounded in Islamic values and empowering family economies through various concrete programs implemented in different regions.
The second welcoming address was delivered by Habib Sulthon Asnawi, SH., SHI, representing Universitas Ma’arif Lampung. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage in academic exchange through this forum and conveyed hopes that inter-university collaboration would continue to be strengthened through more productive and inspiring future activities.
The seminar was formally opened by Ibi Satibi, S.H.I., M.S.I., Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In his remarks, he emphasized that entrepreneurship is not merely about business creation, but also about fostering independence, innovation, and leadership character. He expressed hope that the forum would inspire the emergence of resilient, ethical young entrepreneurs capable of responding to future economic challenges.
Following the opening ceremony, the seminar continued with keynote presentations, interactive discussions, and a question-and-answer session marked by high levels of participant engagement. Speakers from the MES Program of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga were represented by Miftakhul Choiri, while representatives from the Graduate School of Universitas Ma’arif Lampung included Finny Ligery, MM, Head of the MES Program at UMALA, and Habib Sulthon Asnawi, SH., SHI, Head of the Intellectual Property Law Program at UMALA. The seminar was moderated by Malik Abd. Karim Amirullah, S.E., M.E., an alumnus of the MES Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga and a doctoral student in Islamic Economics at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Participants actively raised questions and offered critical responses, demonstrating strong interest in entrepreneurship-related issues.
Through the implementation of this seminar, it is expected that the program will generate sustainable positive impacts—not only in terms of knowledge enhancement, but also as a catalyst for student-led entrepreneurial initiatives that are independent, solution-oriented, and capable of strengthening resilient and sustainable family economies.
