On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Visiting Professor Program organized by the leadership of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga, was officially concluded at the FEBI campus in Yogyakarta. The program was attended by approximately 30 lecturers and student representatives. In this activity, the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics delegated three students—Wahyu Hardi Santika, Miftahus Surur, and May Husnul Khotimah—who participated in the program for nearly one month, from July 5 to July 31, 2025.
This program represents a concrete commitment of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics to enhancing academic quality and research capacity among both students and lecturers through international collaboration. The Visiting Professor for the program was Jurgen Rueland, a distinguished scholar from Germany, who provided intensive training and mentoring in internationally reputable academic writing.
The program comprised a series of structured activities, including:
- Epistemology Sessions (July 7–10, 2025), which explored various theoretical approaches such as positivism, reflexivism, and critical schools of thought, as well as the development of analytical frameworks for academic publication.
- Research Methodology Training (July 14–18, 2025), covering deductive, inductive, and mixed-method research designs, along with content analysis and qualitative comparative analysis.
- Academic Writing Workshops (July 21–25, 2025), focusing on the preparation of abstracts and research proposals, as well as strategies for publishing in internationally reputable journals.
- Simulation of Research Funding Applications to Germany (July 28–29, 2025), which provided strategic insights into accessing global research funding opportunities.
- Individual Consultations and Academic Paper Feedback, aimed at assisting local academics in preparing manuscripts for submission to high-impact international journals.
The program concluded with an evaluative meeting involving the faculty leadership to discuss the overall impact of the program and explore opportunities for continued collaboration through more specialized and advanced training initiatives in the future.
The Master’s Program in Islamic Economics expresses its highest appreciation to all parties who contributed to the successful implementation of this program, particularly the Visiting Professor for sharing his scholarly expertise, as well as the academic community of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics at UIN Sunan Kalijaga for their active participation.
