Master of Sharia Economics Study Program, FEBI UIN SUKA, Hosts Benchmarking Visit from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic University of North Sumatra, Medan
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga (UIN SUKA) Yogyakarta, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU), Medan. The visit aimed to conduct a comparative study on academic program development, student activities, international collaborations, and accreditation preparations implemented by the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta.
The delegation from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UINSU Medan, consisted of two members: Dr. Rahmi Syahriza, M.A., Secretary of the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program, UINSU Medan, and Nurwani, M.Si., Head of the Quality Assurance Unit, FEBI, UINSU Medan. They were warmly received by the Head of the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., and Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I., Secretary of the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program. In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UINSU Medan, to foster relationships and expand academic networks between institutions.
The visit commenced with a discussion on the urgency of establishing a lecturer association for the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program, preparations for achieving superior accreditation, and various achievements in research and community service. Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo also elaborated on several flagship programs currently being implemented, including the internationalization preparation program to support superior accreditation and the international accreditation process for the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program. He further emphasized collaborations established with various universities both domestically and internationally. The discussion continued with an exchange of ideas on suitable community service programs (PKM) for the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program in the future, as well as potential collaboration opportunities.
The visit concluded with feedback from the delegation of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UINSU Medan, regarding accreditation preparations, the development of an academic environment, and opportunities for collaboration. This visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions, enabling them to share experiences and advance higher education in Indonesia. It also underscores the commitment of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UINSU Medan, to expanding its network and promoting quality education at both national and international levels.
