Inauguration of the Head and Secretary of the Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta for the 2024-2028 Term: Internationalization of the Study Program – MES UIN Sunan Kalijaga Must Be Ready!
Yogyakarta – Today, Tuesday, October 23, 2024, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business held an inauguration ceremony for the newly appointed Head and Secretary of the Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program for the 2024-2028 term. The new Head of the MES Study Program is Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., and the Secretary is Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I. The event took place on the 3rd floor of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business and was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans I, II, and III, as well as the Heads and Secretaries of the Study Programs for the 2020-2024 term.
The event commenced with a remark from Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA. He emphasized the significance of strong leadership, collaboration, and sincere dedication in managing the study program.
“We hope that with the inauguration of Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., and Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I., this study program can continue to innovate and make significant contributions to the field of Sharia economics. Furthermore, we aim to elevate the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program to an international standard,” said Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA. He also expressed his deepest gratitude to Dr. Joko Setyono, SE., MSc., serving as the Secretary of the MES Study Program for the 2020-2024 term.
Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA., as the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, stressed that the internationalization of the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program is a crucial step to enhance the quality and global competitiveness of the study program. Therefore, the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program must focus on several aspects, including collaboration and networking with foreign universities, an internationally standardized curriculum, research and publications, and international accreditation.
Furthermore, the Dean also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the previous officials of the 2020-2024 term for their extraordinary dedication and the implementation of internationally-based programs.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with a joint prayer and group photo, marking the beginning of a new leadership journey for the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program. It is hoped that the appointment of the new Head and Secretary will strengthen synergy and contribute to the advancement of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, making it more distinguished and prominent. Additionally, the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program is expected to achieve its set targets and continue to contribute to the development of knowledge in Indonesia.
