Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Participate in Associate Wealth Planner (AWP) Sharia Training and Certification Program
On May 31 and June 1, 2024, the Associate Wealth Planner (AWP) Sharia training and certification program was successfully held. This event was organized through the collaboration of Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program UIN Sunan Kalijaga and the International University of Semen Indonesia (UISI), under the auspices of the International Professional Certification Body (LSP) of FPSB Indonesia. The program was attended by 25 MES students from semesters 1 to 3.
The event was officially opened by Head of the MES Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc. In his opening remarks, he expressed his hope that the students would take full advantage of this valuable opportunity and engage in serious learning to achieve the expected competencies and qualifications. He emphasized that while the application of this knowledge might not be immediate, it would serve as a crucial basis for their future endeavors.
On the first day, Ahmad Dahlan Malik, B.A.(Hons)., M.Ec., CFP., AWP, delivered a session on "Introduction to AWP Sharia and Maqasid Sharia in Financial Planning: Sakinah Finance." Additionally, Drs. Muhammad Asyhad, M.Ag., AWP, elaborated on "Tauhidic Financial Planning: Prosperity for a Harmonious Family." Ahmad Hudaifah, S.E., M.Ec., AWP, also delivered a presentation on "ZISWAF (Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf) in Financial Planning."
The students' enthusiasm grew as they entered the second day of the program. The sessions were not limited to theoretical presentations but also included practical applications through the MyIFPESyariah app and the website perencanaankeuangansyariah.com. Participants were required to submit nine simulation files generated from the MyIFPESyariah app, covering various aspects of Sharia financial planning, such as budgeting, life insurance planning, retirement fund planning, children's education fund planning, home purchase planning, wedding fund planning, waqf fund planning, Hajj planning, and personal financial reporting.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., expressed his hope that this program would enhance the students' competencies in Sharia-based financial and investment planning. He also emphasized the significance of continuing and sustaining the collaboration between UISI and MES UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as it holds great potential for advancing education in Sharia finance.
