Learning Monitoring and Evaluation Results of the MES Program: 88% of Students Graduate on Time

Entering the even semester of the 2024–2025 Academic Year, the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics (MES) conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of the learning process, with a particular focus on thesis completion and final project supervision. The M&E activity focused on 58 students from the Even Semester 2022 cohort.

The results show that by the end of the fourth semester, 51 students (88%) had successfully completed their studies, as formally recognized through the graduation assessment (yudisium) process. Some of these graduates participated in the February 2025 graduation ceremony, while others are scheduled to graduate in May 2025. The remaining seven students are currently continuing their thesis supervision or final examinations in the fifth semester.

This achievement reflects the strong collaboration within the academic community of the MES Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The timely graduation of students is supported by the students’ commitment and persistence in completing their theses, the dedication of academic supervisors who provide continuous guidance, and the professional services delivered by the program’s academic and administrative staff.

It is hoped that the successful on-time graduation of MES students will bring long-term benefits and success to the alumni. Several graduates have reported plans to pursue doctoral studies, teach at higher education institutions, or work in various professional fields relevant to Islamic economics.

The M&E results also identified eight active students in semesters five to seven who are still in the process of completing their studies. The MES Program has expressed a strong commitment to provide special academic assistance to these students and has established intensive communication and mentoring to support their progress. It is expected that within the next academic semester, all remaining students will be able to complete their studies successfully.
