New Students of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Even Semester Academic Year 2024/2025 Successfully Conduct Learning Orientation (SOSPEM)

Yogyakarta, February 18, 2025 — The Master’s Program in Islamic Economics at UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a Learning Orientation Program (Sosialisasi Pembelajaran / SOSPEM) for newly admitted students of the Even Semester, Academic Year 2024/2025. The event took place at the Main Munaqosah Room, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), and aimed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the academic system, curriculum structure, and learning dynamics within the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics.

The program was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA., who emphasized the importance of a thorough understanding of the academic journey ahead. “We expect new students to be fully prepared to face academic challenges and to adapt quickly to a dynamic and innovative learning environment,” he stated. He further encouraged the new cohort to become outstanding students who are able to excel academically and adapt to the highly dynamic academic atmosphere of Yogyakarta.

The Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., also delivered welcoming remarks and provided an academic briefing outlining the overall study trajectory within the program.

The orientation featured a series of sessions facilitated by academic leaders and faculty members. Topics included an introduction to the curriculum and research-based learning methods, as well as the utilization of academic resources, delivered by the Vice Dean I of FEBI, Dr. Sunaryati, M.Si. Additional sessions addressed self-regulation, academic adaptation, and time management, presented by Dr. Jeihan Ali Azhar, S.Si., M.E.I., followed by a session on goal setting and resilience, delivered by Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.E.I., M.E.I.

New students were also given the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with the facilitators, addressing expectations, challenges, and academic opportunities throughout their studies. Through this SOSPEM program, it is expected that new students of the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics at UIN Sunan Kalijaga will be well-equipped to navigate their academic journey effectively and achieve excellence throughout their graduate studies.
