Governor of Bank Indonesia Inaugurates the Management of ISEI Yogyakarta Branch, Three of Whom Are Lecturers from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga

The Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, in his capacity as Chair of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Economists Association (Ikatan Sarjana Ekonomi Indonesia/ISEI) and the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA), officially inaugurated the Management of ISEI Yogyakarta Branch for the 2023–2026 period and the Regional Board of KAFEGAMA Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) for the 2024–2027 period on Friday, February 16, 2024. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Learning Center Building of FEB UGM. Among those appointed were three lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business Islam (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga, namely Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, Dr. Sunaryati, and Dr. Muh. Ghafur Wibowo, who now serve as members of the ISEI Yogyakarta Branch management.

“ISEI Yogyakarta Branch and KAFEGAMA DIY must work in synergy and collaborate closely in implementing their programs,” Perry Warjiyo emphasized. He noted that program initiatives should be more focused on strengthening the regional economy of Yogyakarta. According to him, tourism and related activities serve as one of the main drivers of the regional economy. In addition, the creative economy and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) should also receive greater attention.

“I expect the management to understand and implement the SHDI concept—Stabilization, Downstreaming, Digitalization, and Inclusion,” Perry Warjiyo further stated. Through their programs, the management is expected to collaborate with various stakeholders in maintaining economic stability, particularly price stability. Furthermore, program agendas can be directed toward supporting downstreaming in the agricultural, plantation, and livestock sectors. Contributions to digitalization may be realized through MSME digitalization initiatives. In addition, ISEI Yogyakarta Branch and KAFEGAMA DIY are expected to actively promote economic inclusion within the regional economy.

“No matter how small the contribution, ISEI Yogyakarta Branch and KAFEGAMA DIY must be beneficial (migunani) for MSME actors, the creative economy, and the regional economy,” Perry Warjiyo asserted. He also expressed his hope that all programs would be carried out in the spirit of togetherness (guyub), harmony (rukun), and usefulness for the wider community.
