New Board of the Student Association of Sharia Economics (HMPM) FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga for 2024 Officially Inaugurated

Yogyakarta, June 11, 2024 – The new board of the Student Association of Sharia Economics (HMPM) Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga for the 2024 term has been officially inaugurated. The event, held on the 3rd floor of the FEBI building, was attended by academic officials, the previous HMPM board, and other invited guests.
This inauguration marks the beginning of a new leadership era, expected to bring a spirit of renewal and innovation in advancing the Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program. The event was officially opened by Head of the MES Study Program, Dr. Muhammad Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc. In his remarks, he emphasized that not everyone has the opportunity to study and contribute to HMPM, as it requires significant sacrifice. He urged the new board to collaborate wholeheartedly, dedicating their time, energy, and thoughts to advancing the association. He also stressed the significance of staying focused on agreed-upon goals and remaining dedicated to the planned initiatives. Today’s inauguration, he noted, is the starting point for all these endeavors.
The newly elected Chairman of HMPM, Muhammad Budi Utama, S.E., emphasized in his remarks that the key focus of this year’s leadership is to steer HMPM toward becoming an organization that embodies “BERAKSI” (Rational Thinking, Active, Communicative, and Solution-Oriented). This vision will be realized through the integration of efforts from various stakeholders, including MES students in general, not just the HMPM board. Moving forward, the board will carry out tasks and activities aimed at supporting the MES Study Program in developing students' intellectual and professional skills in economics. This will be achieved through training sessions, studies, seminars, and other initiatives deemed necessary and beneficial for MES students.
Additionally, Tama, as he is commonly known, expressed his hope that MES students, particularly the HMPM board members, would not only absorb theoretical knowledge but also develop the ability to think rationally about current economic trends. This, he believes, will enable them to integrate academic theory with contemporary contexts, ultimately positioning them as pioneers capable of providing innovative solutions to evolving economic challenges.
Following the inauguration, the 2024 HMPM board of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga promptly held its first working meeting. Numerous programs were proposed, expected to make tangible contributions in academic, entrepreneurial, social, writing, and other areas. The new initiatives resulting from the revitalization and evaluation of previous programs, will soon be implemented by the 2024 HMPM board in the near future. [Wahyu Wibowo]
